Great question! A picture is worth a thousand words, so here’s a video to enjoy!
Yes! Students can enroll in multiple programs! Many of our current families enjoy Creative Options and Homeschool Academy for a total of 3 days a week.
Mighty Roots Academy is an enrichment program created to be complimentary to whatever other schooling is being done at home. Mighty Roots was not created to be a full time private school. Attending more than 1 program is absolutely welcome, but no more than a maximum of 3 days a week.
Yes! Students may enroll for half a day on our Monday Discovery Days program!
The Homeschool Academy focuses on academics in a fun and active way with some elective courses sprinkled in.
The Creative Options program allows students to explore their creative side through elective courses that add core content when applicable.
Discovery Days courses offer seasonal sessions for a shorter period of time with an outdoor-only focus.
At Mighty Roots Academy, we do not use any one particular curriculum. Instead, we allow our Learning Guides as much freedom as possible when planning their own classes. Course Descriptions of each class we offer will come out at the same time as our schedule for each program year. Learning Guides often make their own curriculum, however, they also may utilize resources and even lesson plans from other sources.

There are several nearby restaurants, parks and attractions that offer entertainment and other conveniences.

Mighty Roots Academy welcomes diverse learners! However, Mighty Roots does not currently offer specialized training to Learning Guides regarding all diverse learners. Please talk with a director regarding your specific child and their needs to determine if our programming fits your family’s needs.
We want to be informed of any food or environmental allergies prior to your child participating in our programs.

Mighty Roots Academy hires qualified learning guides. Most of our learning guides are CPR & First Aid certified.
When you drive to the property, drive down the driveway and make a U to go up the right side of the drive until the yellow line. Directors/learning guides will greet you at the car upon drop off and accompany students during pick up.
Mighty Roots Academy requests that students bring the following to our program. Please label each item with a Sharpie.
-Lunch (if enrolled in Lunch & Discovery Play)
-Personal water bottle(s),
-Change of clothes for the appropriate season in bag, labeled with name
-Easy to slip on and off shoes (especially for younger students as we have a no shoe wearing policy in our classrooms to decrease the amount of dirt, mud, etc.)
-Appropriate weather gear.
Lunches are students fuel for the day. We need parents help ensuring that that foods brought are healthy and that the student can open, or heat foods on their own.
A few guidelines to keep in mind.
· Candy and Soda are NOT ALLOWED. Students will be asked to put these foods away and not eat them at MRA. There are plenty of hours of the day outside of MRA time in which families can choose the foods that fit their personal preferences.
· Please limit or don’t pack snack cakes and high sugar foods.
· If a student needs to reheat a food it should be less than 2 minutes. Foods should not be “cooked” at MRA as they are too hot and usually need more than 2 minutes which causes a back-up at the microwave.
· Students must be able to re-heat or open foods they bring without help. Thermoses are a great solution for this.
Mighty Roots Academy does not offer snacks at this time. There are classes and/or celebration days throughout the year when snacks or special treats are provided.
We play out in nature all year long! It is imperative that your child is dressed appropriately, preferably in layers.
We have several indoor facilities that are cooled/heated for inclement weather that is deemed unsafe for long periods of exposure. We have a secure shelter area in case of tornados.
Around Mighty Roots Academy you may hear directors and guides say "There is no such things as bad weather, just bad gear!"
Be sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather. Rainy days will bring mud, so prepare for dirty clothing & easy-to-take-on-and-off shoes/boots on those days. Colder days will require layers so that your child stays at a comfortable temperature. We do plan to get dirty throughout the day which is a great way to support your child's sensory system & immune system!
Please directly message the Cordinator of the program that your child(ren) attend(s) on the assigned messaging app:
